- Slowing nonessential projects and capital maintenance to limit spending
- No reduction in public safety funding
- Ensuring development projects preserve and enhance our city's classic appearance
- Protecting unique architectural features at historical sites
- Offering a loan/grant program for struggling businesses
- Cutting red tape that blocks businesses from getting things done
- Loosening business restrictions
- Working cooperatively with state agencies, including California Coastal Commission, in order to maintain and maximize local control
- Leading by example to create a kinder and more efficient council
- Not policing others' actions, but treating other councilmembers with respect
- Creating objective Design Review standards
- Insisting on specific Design Review findings of neighborhood compatibility
- Improving de-escalation training for police officers
- Preserving a strong public safety system
- Maintaining and encouraging diversity in police leadership
- Saving local heritage trees, such as our 140-year-old pepper tree
- Preserving natural wildlife corridors during development
- Supporting the elimination of 2nd generation rodenticide from our environment
